Freeman Boatworks selects Caracol to implement robotic large-format additive manufacturing across their production operations. image

Caracol is proud to announce that Freeman Boatworks, one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance offshore vessels in the United States, has selected Caracol as its technology partner to integrate robotic LFAM into their manufacturing operations.

Founded in South Carolina, Freeman Boatworks has spent over a decade setting the standard for precision, performance, and craftsmanship in the offshore boating market — with a fleet spanning from 28 to 56 feet and a customer base that demands nothing short of excellence.

After an in-depth evaluation process, Freeman Boatworks selected Caracol’s HERON 300 HV, in its hybrid configuration combining robotic additive manufacturing with integrated CNC machining, to produce large-scale tooling and composite parts for their vessels. The system will be deployed directly within their production environment, delivering measurable advantages in lead time, design flexibility, and cost efficiency over conventional manufacturing methods.

Freeman Boatworks joins a growing number of marine manufacturers embracing large-format additive manufacturing as a production technology, and Caracol is proud to be the platform of choice.
