As a Metal Additive Manufacturing Senior Engineer, you will be a key technical reference for WAAM processes, owning the development, optimization, and industrialization of metal additive manufacturing solutions from early experimentation to production-ready maturity. 

You will work hands-on on process definition, parameter optimization, and deposition strategies, tackling real manufacturing challenges related to quality, repeatability, and scalability.

Ideal Background: 

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in WAAM (preferred), or at least 5 years of experience in welding 
  • Hands-on experience with WAAM systems is strongly preferred 
  • Experience with metal welding technologies (e.g. TIG, MIG) in industrial or research environments 
  • Experience with robotics (academic or professional) is considered a strong plus 
  • Exposure to aerospace, transportation, tooling, or defence industries is a plus 

 

Technical expertise 

  • Strong understanding of welding physics and metallurgy, including weld pool dynamics, thermal behavior, and phase transformations 
  • Experience with Fronius CMT and/or PAD equipment 
  • Ability to optimize WAAM process parameters and understand their impact on arc stability and bead quality 
  • Knowledge of deposition geometries and strategies for WAAM applications 
  • Familiarity with slicing software for WAAM 
  • Ability to diagnose defect formation mechanisms and define corrective actions 
  • Ability to design and execute structured experimental plans 
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to produce rigorous technical reports 

 

Languages 

  • English proficiency is required (B1 min) 
  • Italian is a plus
